The Mystical Calculus of Theism

Universal Slope

And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks. Quran (07, 46)

Allah, the Almighty God, or simply the God is the supreme being and the sole deity in Islam. The basic tenet of Islam demands the negation of all other deities in favor of the One True God. Therefore, Islam is strictly monotheistic in its ideology as it believes in the One God that commands his many attributes of choice through His divine power. In polytheism, the many deities are differentiated on the basis of their attributes because they represent the evolved characters only in their respective fields of influence, with each of the specific attributes reflecting their power. However, the eternal Deity in the ideology of monotheism cannot be constrained by the domain of His attributes on account of His power to command them at all times, and thus the many attributes merely become manifestations of the One power, and not the vice versa.

There is an element of recognition for a person when concerning the concepts of monotheism or polytheism; for it does not matter whatever may be out there, God or gods, rather what matters is ones choice of faith in their ideology. Though apparently the two beliefs are antithetical to each other, but diving deeper into the ideals of theism would lead to the discovery that they are a interconnected system of faith without a definite order of boundaries. There is a subjective human factor that acts as an independent variable in the equation of theism, such that the inherent values of theistic truth tend to be reflected through the prism of human experiences. It tells about more of a person and his tendencies, whether to follow the direction towards differentiating chaos or integrating order for the fulfillment of his purpose. For instance, a polytheist would always tend to create a game of competition out of every situation in the world for the survival of his life, and a monotheist would always challenge that game of competition itself for the dominance of his light, rather than participating in some sort of a survival competition. Thus, it may not be about what is actually real, but what is made to be real in terms of the attitudes of believers in the respective forms of theism that describes the dimensions of their faith. Therefore, the best case for a believer is to have a faith through the recognition of his subjective truth, while much less beneficial for him is to profess a blind faith, and the worst situation for any people is to be blinded by their faith that lacks the authenticity of their spiritual objectives. Also, attention seeking has always been a part of religions but never a part of faith. Truth seeking is the essential part of faith, and God sees only faith in the hearts of believers, such that the seekers of truth will always validate their faith through right actions irrespective of the trends in their environments. The contention of prophet Abraham with his people about the heavenly signs of God is a classic anecdote mentioned in Quran related to this ideology. The Quran says,

Thus did We show Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth that he might be of those possessing certainty: When the night grew dark upon him he beheld a star. He said: This is my Lord. But when it set, he said: I love not things that set. And when he saw the moon uprising, he exclaimed: This is my Lord. But when it set, he said: Unless my Lord guide me, I surely shall become one of the folk who are astray. And when he saw the sun uprising, he cried: This is my Lord! This is greater! And when it set he exclaimed: O my people! Lo! I am free from all that ye associate (with Him). Lo! I have turned my face toward Him Who created the heavens and the earth, as one by nature upright, and I am not of the idolaters. (06, 75-79)

The example of Abraham is interesting because people usually notice the Sun first, then the Moon, and then the Star; but here the situation is presented in the reverse order emphasizing the evolutionary perspective of inner discovery and enlightenment. In other words, people tend to indulge into the popular trends of their respective times according to their capacity of status and wealth, but then the times change and thence the trends change. However, the only factor that always remains constant in those trendy affairs is their direction of movement from the ideals of Locality to Universality, or metaphorically from the smaller Star to the bigger Sun. Therefore, Abraham is actually teaching his people not to participate in those trends whereby their Local Actions are not supported by the Universal Momentum, because such trends could only be meant for their exploitation through corruption, and would consequently result in the loss of their Upright Nature.

The study of slope from the perspective of physical sciences is called Calculus, and the development of modern world is very much based on it. The Differential is the microcosm that we all individually represent, and the Integral is the macrocosm display of this world. People like stable footing whilst walking, that is why they make stairs and ramps for ascending or descending. The Ups and Downs, the crests and troughs of all our lives is ultimately the function of integrating all the differential equations of every life involved in the Universal Slope.

The Universal Slope is the Integral of all the differentiated living beings called Differentials. The ascended state of enlightenment or the fallen state of darkness in every differential is due to its position in the Universal Slope. The enlightened differential strives for higher awareness of the Universal Slope, while the fallen differential tends to find excuses to ignore the Universal Slope.

The Great Pyramid of Giza stands with its four faces to the four cardinal angles. The entrance part way up the side is in the north and so cleverly concealed that it is practically invisible from below. The entrance consists of a square surmounted by a triangle, thus signifying that the earth is surmounted by spirit. The entrance is hidden to signify that the way of light is difficult to find, and narrow is the gate that leads to eternal life and none may enter except he bow his head to the inevitable. The square base of the pyramid in the Mysteries signifies its sure foundation upon the earth, for Nature is the base upon which must be raised the Divine House, and the structure of wisdom must have a solid foundation in the laws of Nature. As the word 'pyramid' signifies light and fire, it is a material edifice built in the symbolic form of a flame, with its point upward. This point may be considered as an indicator that wisdom is above and ignorance is below. The square base further represents the four elements, the sides of the four spirits which guard the angles of the world.

Among the ancient Egyptians the triangle, or pyramid, was symbolic of immortality, for it was a point rising out of a square, thus signifying the resurrection of spirit out of matter, as the One emanating out from the Four. Therefore, the Five points are the number of the priest, and also the secret Pythagorean emblem of man. The five is the Initiator, the Dragon Slayer, and He who attains to Self by the destruction of the Not-Self.

The wisdom of the ancients seems to have been epitomized in the structure of the Great Pyramid, for it is constructed according to an eternal principle as a perfect emblem of Divinity constituting both the mysteries of universal dynamics and the nature of human soul, and the architecture of which sets forth the secrets of all processes, all laws, and all truth.
